Program Compatibility Assistant Appears after Installing Contract Tools
-
What happens: When Contract Tools Setup is finished, a Program Compatibility Assistant alert appears. The alert says that Visual Studio Tools for Office Solution Installer “might not have installed correctly”.
-
What this means: Program Compatibility Assistant (PCA) is Microsoft software that detects when installers or setup programs fail to install software correctly; see Application Compatibility: Program Compatibility Assistant (PCA) to learn more. PCA has incorrectly categorized Visual Studio Tools for Office Solution Installer as a setup program.
-
What you should do: Click Cancel to dismiss the alert, or click “This program installed correctly” to prevent the alert from appearing again.
