Highlighting and Underlining
Contract Tools highlights a variety of items:
Text you can navigate by double-clicking (see Navigation Tools to learn more)
Drafting errors (see Proofreading Documents to learn more)
Inline list markers like (a) (b) (c) and (i) (ii) (iii) and proviso markers like provided however and provided, further (see Working with Inline Lists and Proviso Lists to learn more)
Search results (see Finding Text to learn more)
Matched parentheses and brackets
In addition, when you select a defined term (see Working with Defined Terms to learn more), other instances of the defined are underlined. You can also optionally underline drafting errors.
Note: Highlighting and underlining do not change your document in any way.
To customize highlighting and underlining, choose Preferences from the pop-up menu at the top of the Contract Tools pane to show the Preferences view, and then use the Highlighting & Underlining controls.
To troubleshoot problems with highlighting and underlining appearing in the wrong place, see The Contract Tools Pane Appears with Black Shapes; Highlighting and Underlining are Misplaced.
